Product description

Our ELANEE Vaginal pH Self-Test is a simple and hygienic rapid test for home use, allowing you to determine the vaginal pH level. The result helps in the early detection of bacterial vaginal infections and genital yeast infections.

The test is an approximately 8 cm long vaginal applicator with an integrated pH test strip and a measuring scale from 3.8 to 7.0 pH. The color scale ranges from orange (3.8 pH) through yellow-green (5.0 pH) to dark green (7.0 pH).

The test strips of our vaginal pH self-test are non-bleeding, meaning they do not release any dyes or other substances and can therefore be inserted into the vagina.

Areas of application

The use of our vaginal pH self-test is useful in the following cases, among others:

If bacterial vaginosis is suspected due to symptoms such as itching or burning in the inner genital area, increased discharge with an unpleasant odor or pain during sexual intercourse and/or urination
After anti-infective therapy (e.g. treatment with antibiotics)
As part of preventive examinations during pregnancy*
If there is a known risk of premature birth*
After sexual contact with a new partner

Before and after vaginal surgery (in the case of injuries that have not yet fully healed, only after consulting a doctor.)

*Bacterial vaginosis is responsible for approximately 30% of miscarriages and premature births. Since vaginosis can develop within a few days, it is advisable to check the pH level 2-3 times a week, especially in women who have already had a miscarriage or premature birth.

As soon as the test shows the first signs of a result that deviates from the norm (> 4.4 pH), a visit to a doctor is recommended.

Application

Wash your hands thoroughly before taking the test.
Open the box, remove a test, and open the plastic pouch. Do not open the pouch until immediately before performing the test.
Hold the applicator by the gripping ring between your thumb and index finger. Your thumb should always be on the side of the vaginal applicator. Be careful not to touch the test measurement area.
Avoid contact of the pH measuring area with other liquids.
Sit with your legs spread or place one foot on the toilet seat or another stable surface.
With your free hand, gently pull the labia apart to gain access to the vagina.
Carefully insert the applicator about 1 to 3 cm into the vagina, no deeper than the grip ring—similar to how you would insert a tampon. Inserting the vaginal applicator is completely painless.
Gently press the applicator against the back of the vaginal wall (toward the rectum) for about 10 seconds to ensure the pH measuring area is sufficiently moistened. The measuring area must be well moistened to ensure accurate test results.
Then gently pull the applicator out of the vagina.
Read the result immediately, as it is no longer valid after 30 seconds. Always use the color scale on the package to interpret the test.
