Questions & Tips

Here you will find all the information and answers to your questions about our products.
How long should the lactic acid treatment be used? Plus
The lactic acid treatment is a 7-day treatment and should be used once daily during this period.
Why does the lactic acid treatment burn during (the first) use? Plus
The lactic acid gel has a low pH of approximately 3.8. In cases of bacterial vaginosis, the vaginal pH is usually elevated at the beginning of use (> pH 4.5). As the vaginal flora gradually restores itself, i.e., the pH decreases during use, the burning sensation should subside.
How often can the lactic acid treatment be used? Plus
The lactic acid treatment can be used repeatedly if the vaginal flora is sensitive and prone to infection, for example, monthly as a preventative measure after menstruation. However, if you have existing bacterial vaginosis, you should consult a doctor if your symptoms do not improve after the 7-day treatment.
How do you use the lactic acid treatment? Plus
It is applied daily for 7 days. To do this, screw the included applicator onto the tube and press the lactic acid gel into the applicator until it stops (approximately 2.5 ml or ½ the applicator is full). Then twist off the applicator and apply the gel vaginally. The exact application steps can be found in the instructions for use.
Is a lactic acid treatment suitable for vaginal yeast infections? Plus
No. Once a diagnosis of vaginal yeast infections has been confirmed, a doctor will usually prescribe an antifungal medication. After successful treatment of the yeast infection, a lactic acid treatment can help stabilize and maintain a healthy vaginal flora and prevent vaginal infections.
Can the lactic acid treatment be used during pregnancy? Plus
Yes, the lactic acid treatment can generally be used during pregnancy. During a problematic pregnancy or in cases of doubt, you should consult a doctor.
How do I use the lactic acid treatment? Plus
Ensure clean conditions, e.g., by washing my hands thoroughly. Unscrew the gel tube and pierce the seal on the tube opening with the upside-down cap. Remove the applicator from the foil packaging shortly before use and screw it onto the opened gel tube. Slowly squeeze the lactic acid gel out of the tube until the applicator is about half full (approx. 2.5 ml). Caution! Do not squeeze any gel past the plunger! Carefully unscrew the half-full applicator from the tube. Lie on your back—ideally in the evening before going to bed—with your legs slightly drawn up and place a towel under your pelvic area. Insert the filled applicator about 2-3 cm into the vagina, similar to a tampon. Slowly press the plunger to squeeze the gel completely out of the applicator into the vagina. Due to its low pH value, the gel may cause a brief, mild burning sensation on sensitive mucous membranes. Dispose of the used applicator in the household waste and repeat the application with a new applicator on the following days. Tip: After applying the lactic acid gel, it may be advisable to wear a panty liner or sanitary pad, as increased discharge may occur.
