Product information
Training with our ELANEE pelvic floor training aids Phase I active promotes awareness of the pelvic floor and strengthens the pelvic floor muscles.
Regular training can improve, eliminate or prevent bladder weakness (stress/stress incontinence).
The pelvic floor training aids Phase I active are a medical product manufactured in Germany and consist of a set of four tampon-shaped cones of the same size with return straps for vaginal insertion.
The vaginal cones have different colors and weights: yellow 20 g, blue 28 g, green 52 g, violet 71 g. An exercise booklet with training instructions is included with the product.
The pelvic floor training aids phase I active can be prescribed by a doctor (aid number: 15.25.19.0027).
Pharmacy central number (PZN): 11561931
Areas of application
Weakened or overstretched pelvic floor muscles are often the cause of bladder weakness.
Due to the heavy strain during pregnancy and childbirth, but also due to the hormonal changes during the menopause, the tension in the pelvic floor muscles decreases so that they can no longer fulfill their function.
Targeted training with our pelvic floor training aids phase I can actively counteract this in a natural way.
Training with our pelvic floor training aids phase I active is suitable for women:
- during pregnancy and after childbirth to prevent pelvic floor weakness and to support regeneration and/or
- for the prevention, alleviation and elimination of bladder weakness due to stress incontinence, especially during the menopause and menopause.
Further application notes:
- During an unproblematic pregnancy, training with the pelvic floor training aids phase I can actively strengthen the pelvic floor and prevent possible subsequent problems.
- After giving birth, training can be resumed as soon as the cervix is closed (after approx. 6 weeks).
If in doubt, you should consult a doctor or midwife. - Training with the pelvic floor training aids phase I active can bring the desired success with ineffective, non-invasive pelvic floor training due to the lack of feeling for the pelvic floor muscles.
- The pelvic floor training aids phase I active are also suitable for the treatment of pelvic floor weakness due to bladder weakness (stress/stress incontinence).
However, bladder problems have various causes.
Other causes for the existing urinary incontinence should be ruled out in advance by a doctor and/or midwife.
Functionality
To gain a better understanding of how our pelvic floor training aids Phase I actively work, we recommend reading our blog article “Structure and functions of the pelvic floor muscles”.
Our pelvic floor training aids phase I active consist of a set of four different weights that enable active pelvic floor training according to the biofeedback principle.
The biofeedback principle is based on the fact that the cones slide out of the vagina under their own weight.
The muscles of the pelvic floor react actively to this by spontaneously and automatically tightening to hold the weight.
These repeated active contractions build muscle – just like muscle training with a dumbbell.
The four different weights in the set make it possible to increase the training intensity.
The training weight is increased when the muscles can hold a cone with ease.
Further information & tips
Tip: The use of lubricant makes it easier to insert the cones.
However, this can make training more difficult as the cones slide out more easily.
When should you use the pelvic floor training aids phase I active and when should you use the pelvic floor training aid phase II?
The pelvic floor training aids phase I actively promote the perception and conscious muscle control of the pelvic floor in a natural way and strengthen the weakened pelvic floor muscles.
As soon as the pelvic floor muscles can be perceived well and you are satisfied with the condition of the pelvic floor muscles, permanent follow-up training with the pelvic floor training aid phase II is recommended in order to maintain muscle strength and prevent the muscles from slackening again.
What is the difference between the pelvic floor training aid phase I active and the pelvic floor training aid phase II?
The two training aids differ in their application and mode of operation.
The effect of Phase I active is based on the biofeedback principle.
This means that the vaginally inserted cones of Phase I active are designed to prevent sliding out by actively tensing the pelvic floor muscles.
The phase II vaginal cone, on the other hand, does not slide out but remains inserted throughout the entire application and passively stimulates the pelvic floor through silent vibrations.
The two white contact surfaces on the cord side of the cone and the stimulation islands help to transmit the vibrations particularly well.
What should you do if you can’t hold the lightest cone?
In this case, we recommend performing the exercises in the exercise booklet without the cone inserted or exercises lying down or in an inclined position (from page 6).
Then the entire weight of the cone does not press down.
If there is no noticeable improvement in the pelvic floor muscles with continued training, medical advice should be sought.
How deep should the cones be inserted?
The cones should be inserted vaginally, similar to a tampon, completely and about 3-4 cm deep with the index and/or middle finger.
No other objects or aids should be used for insertion in order to avoid injury.
The use of a water-based lubricant can make insertion easier.
How long and how often should you actively train with the pelvic floor training aids phase I?
For the best possible muscle development, it is advisable to train twice a day (morning and evening) for approx. 10 minutes each time.
The recommended training time should not be exceeded, as this can lead to muscle soreness.
Can the pelvic floor training aids phase I be used actively during pregnancy?
During an unproblematic pregnancy, training with the cones can strengthen the pelvic floor and prevent any subsequent problems.
In the case of vaginal infections, inflammation or discomfort in the genital area, as well as in the case of a problem pregnancy, the pelvic floor training aids should not be used.
Can I actively use the pelvic floor training aids phase I immediately after the birth?
No.
After a birth, you should only start pelvic floor training or postnatal recovery after consulting your doctor or midwife.
This is because it must be ensured that any injuries and scars that may result from childbirth have healed and the cervix is closed.
Can you actively use the pelvic floor training aids phase I if you are wearing a contraceptive coil?
Yes.
It is possible to use an IUD (intrauterine device) and the pelvic floor training aids phase I active at the same time (as well as wearing a cervical cap, contraceptive ring or diaphragm).
However, correct positioning must be checked before and after each training session.
If in doubt, medical advice should be sought before use.
Can the pelvic floor training aids phase I be actively used for uterine prolapse and effectively counteract it?
In the case of uterine prolapse (as well as prolapse of other pelvic organs), the individual case must be considered.
A medical consultation should be carried out and appropriate individual treatment measures taken.
Are the materials skin-friendly?
Yes.
All materials that come into contact with the skin have been tested as part of a biocompatibility assessment in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10993-1 (Biological evaluation of medical devices – Part 1):
the return strap, the plastic used and the four cone colors used.
As part of our purchasing and quality management process, we continuously check that only materials that exactly meet the specification are used.
What size are the individual cones?
The size of the four cones is comparable to the size of a standard tampon.
They have a diameter of approx. 2.2 cm at the widest point and are approx. 5 cm long without the ribbon.
What is the weight of the individual cones?
Each cone has a different color and weight: yellow 20 g, blue 28 g, green 52 g, violet 71 g.
